Inspections App: More ways to add Evidence

Coming Soon to the iOS and Android: An in-app video capture and the ability to add various file types directly from your phone.

We have listened to user feedback and are delighted to showcase our new feature for enhancing evidence capture in the Obi Inspect mobile app.

You can now add various file types directly from your phone, including photos, videos, PDFs, and Word documents. We've also introduced in-app video capture for real-time evidence and geotagging to automatically tag each piece of evidence with its precise location, ensuring greater accuracy and accountability in your inspection reports.

Discover our top 8 tips for making the most of the new feature!

1 - Take videos straight from your camera

Swipe right on the camera function to access the video recording feature.

2 - Upload videos and photos directly from your gallery

Choose multiple items from your device camera roll

3 - Trim videos in the app

When uploading videos, you can use the sliding tools to edit their length, allowing you to focus on the right moment.

4 - Add metadata information

Include context to evidence by adding date, time, and location for increased accountability and accuracy (location data anonymised for the purpose of this communication, road markings, etc, are visible in the app).

5 - Save marked-up photos as a separate image

In the settings page, you can set the default choice to keep the original image when adding markup.

6 - Upload documents from your mobile device

PDFs and Word Docs can be added to pins, closeouts or reviews straight from your device's internal storage.

7 - View files added by other project members

The gallery now includes a viewer for files and videos added by other users.

8 - Improved camera controls

The camera controls have been updated to include selfie mode, burst photos, and native controls, making snapping evidence quick and easy.

How to enable the new feature!

To enable these features, you will need to enable permissions in the app for the camera, microphone, files from the device, and metadata. You can toggle these in the app's settings page and on your device's internal app settings page.
