How to send an external transmittal from file manager

1 - From the Document Management module on the left-hand side of the screen, select "File Manager". This is the project’s common data environment at obi®.

2 - In the file manager, navigate to the relevant folder that you want to access. To enter, move your mouse over the relevant folder and click anywhere on the folder's tile. The page will reload and direct you to the folder's main page.

3 - Scroll to the bottom of the screen to find the "send files to external file share" component, which allows you to create an external transmittal link with the records you've chosen.

4 - If you select previously sent files to the file share, you will receive a validation notification indicating that they are still active in the file share.

5 - To locate your active file-sharing records, simply return to the file manager's main folder page and look for the "doc sharing" button on the top right-hand side of the screen.

6 - When the page reloads, you'll see a list of all active sharing links. Simply click "view," and you will be able to provide a title, password, expiration date, and an email list of the people you want to share the records with.

7 - When you have completed all of the information and are ready to share the records, click the "close and share" button. It will send an email with a link to the files to the individuals on the list who have been specified.

If you create a password for the file transmittal link, you must share it with the people on your list.
