BCAR and BRPD Updates

Obi Inspect Platform Update — Enhancements for BRPD & BCAR Workflows

To help streamline inspection, compliance, and document management processes while we prepare for the Inspect platform rebuild, several key updates are being rolled out.
These changes have been developed collaboratively with Technical Advisory Service Experts focusing on improving workflows used across BRPD and BCAR services.


🔁 1. Benchmarks: Easier Resubmissions

  • Prefilled Resubmits: When resubmitting a benchmark, previously attached evidence files will now auto-populate — saving time and ensuring consistency.

  • Edit & Replace: Users can delete, edit, or swap out attachments directly in the resubmit form.

  • Reviewer View: Reviewers will see all attached evidence together as a single, consolidated submission.


🔔 2. Query Notifications — Improved Logic

  • All workflow participants are now notified whenever a query is updated.

  • The system ensures users won’t receive duplicate notifications or notifications for their own updates.

  • Notifications now follow a unified format for easier reference and tracking.


📋 3. “My Tasks” — Richer Task Preview

  • Added key details to the preview modal, including:

    • Title, Description, Work Package, Zone, Discipline

  • This applies across task types — Benchmarks, Change Orders, Critical Docs, Design Deliverables, IFCOs, and more — providing quicker insight without opening each record.


🧩 4. Critical Docs — Immediate Reviewer Visibility

  • Review tasks for Critical Documents now appear in reviewers’ “My Tasks” immediately after submission, regardless of due date.

  • This ensures reviews can begin as soon as documents are available — particularly useful for projects with early deliverables.


🧱 5. IFCO — New Classifications

Three new configurable IFCO classifications have been added for greater flexibility in issue tracking:

  • Extra Snag 1 — Closeout & Review Only

  • Extra Snag 2 — Closeout & Review Only

  • Extra IFCO — Issue Quality Check & Final Review

Project admins can enable or disable these classifications in Project Settings → Configurations or via project templates.

✅ Existing IFCOs will remain visible and functional, even if a classification is later disabled.


🚩 6. Health & Safety Module — “Mandatory Occurrence Workflow”

Projects can now activate a Mandatory Occurrence Workflow, changing the terminology and visibility of certain sections:

  • H&S Issues relabeled to Mandatory Occurrences

  • H&S Officer Role renamed Mandatory Occurrence Reviewer

  • “Incidents, Accidents & First Aid” tab hidden for these projects

  • Updated icons and navigation labels reflect the new terminology

This feature can be toggled in Project Setup, with an info tooltip explaining its use.


💡 Why These Changes Matter

These updates aim to:

  • Reduce manual data entry and redundant uploads

  • Ensure faster reviews and clearer task visibility

  • Standardize how IFCOs and H&S issues are managed

  • Better align Inspect workflows with BRPD and BCAR compliance requirements
