How to add an Indicator

The Indicators Feature in Obi ESG allows users to track and report on specific fund and asset level KPIs

In this Article:

Open the Indicators Dashboard

Starting from the Fund Home Page

Click on “Indicators” in the left hand navigation panel.

You will see the indicators dashboard on that fund, click anywhere on the dashboard to access the indicators list.

Add a New Indicator

Click on the “+” icon in the top right corner of the indicator’s list.

Click on Asset level indicator to create a task for each asset to feed into.

The Asset level indicator is the most commonly used indicator type. The same steps can be followed for a “Fund Level Indicator”

Give the new indicator a recognisable name

Choose an icon that describes the indicator

The drop-down menu has several images to choose from.

Give the indicator a description.

Supporting documents, policy documents or guidance websites can also be added in this step to give the uploader some additional context, if required.

In the next steps, you can define metric type and targets for the indicator

Click on "Score type" to choose the metric that will be used to report this indicator.

You can choose from several metrics, each with their own uses and validations:

  • Number
  • Currency
  • Ratio
  • Percentage
  • Yes/No

For tracking binary uploads or specific tasks to be completed, the "Yes/No" Score type is recommended.

For asset level indicators, you should choose how the scores are calculated at the fund level.

The options in this section are determined by the score type chosen. Any score type can use the "average" or "weighted average" accumulation. This will take the average value of all the asset values submitted and display this on the fund level dashboard.

The "Currency" and "Number" score types can also use the "Aggregate" accumulation type, which will sum all off the asset values together to show on the fund level dashboard.

Weighted average can offer a greater value to larger or higher value assets to give a better idea of overall progress toward a target.

Scores can be weighted by value (€) or by footprint (€)

Next, you can choose to set a target or limit for the indicator.

If using the aggregate accumulation type, more options for target or limit are available.

On the next step, choose the assets to be included and assign the users responsible to upload and review the scores.

For each asset, choose a user to assign to be responsible for uploading the score. To exclude an asset from the target calculations, just leave the assignee field empty.

Optionally add a reviewer who can verify the score added by the uploader and and return the task for clarification as needed.

In the next step, describe the evidence required and set upload deadlines

Choose a start date, end date and frequency for the upload tasks

If the indicator has reviewers, define the review period.

Hit "Finish" to save the indicator and return to the indicator list page
